Rules and guidelines for submitting work

We accept all kinds of written work for our magazine including short stories, poetry, flash fiction, memoir, plays, and more! We also accept visual art and photography to be published in the magazine.

Rules:

1. All submissions must be the creation or creations of the applicant. Instances of plagiarism will not be tolerated, and if discovered will result in the immediate removal of the work from the webpage and magazines (if possible, obviously we can’t remove the submission from physical magazines), as well as the applicant’s future inability to submit work. As a result, A.I. art is not considered to be a valid submission for this magazine.

2. Lumiere has a zero tolerance policy for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, harassment, bullying, etc. etc. We reserve the right to deny any work from appearing in the magazine on these grounds. Do note that works discussing these issues are more than welcome, but works engaging in these behaviors are not submissible.

3. You retain your right to submit your work anonymously, but please be aware that doing so, you will be uncredited for your work’s appearance in the magazine. If you are later able to come forward with proof that you are the originator of the work, we will do our best to credit you from that point onward properly.
